Woe is me
September 26th, 2006I feel kinda bad for not updating this site in quite a while, but the truth of the matter is I just haven’t been inspired lately by any new beers. Call it a “beer slump,” if you will. I just haven’t had any intriguing beers lately that energized me enough to write something about them.
Take, for instance, the India Pale Ale. Is it impossible to make an inspiring IPA anymore? Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of good IPAs out there, but I’m beginning to think I’ve already tried all the ones worth trying. I’ve probably had half a dozen different brands of IPAs in the last couple months and not one did anything for me.
There’s also Lagunita’s #10. I bought a 22oz bottle of this a while ago thinking it was going to be something worthwhile, but nuh-uh. I honestly took one sip from my pint glass and poured the rest out. I don’t know if that was because this brew is legitimately that bad or I’ve just become so appalled by uninspired beers that it just pissed me off.
So, that’s my story lately. If anybody out there has any suggestions of must have beers then by all means please leave a comment on my page. I’m a huge fan of darker beers and so far I’m not a fan of any Belgian styles if that helps. Oh, and barley wine makes me giddy.
